It’s hard to believe it, but the Outlander Season 5 finale is almost here. The episode is titled “Never My Love,” and will be airing this coming Sunday (May 10th) at 8pm ET. Here’s everything we know about what we can expect from Season 5, Episode 12… “Never My Love” is written by showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia and directed by Jamie Payne, who previously directed Episode 3 and Episode 4 of this season. It sounds like the finale will pick up right after the previous episode, with Jamie working desperately to recover Claire following her abduction. We’ll also check in with Roger and Brianna, who unexpectedly popped through the stones with Jemmy in last week’s episode. Though we know where they end up in the book, it’s unclear how closely the TV series will be following this particular novel plot, as Bree and Roger’s trip out of the 18th century doesn’t happen in the book series until much later. You can read more about that here. And here’s the promo for the Outlander Season 5 finale… Outlander Season 5 may almost be at an end, but this story is far from over. Starz actually greenlit a Season 6 for this show at the same time it greenlit a Season 5, which shows tremendous support and suggests the series won’t be ending anytime soon. Author Diana Gabaldon (who penned Season 5, Episode 11) has published eight main books in the Outlander series, with a planned ten in total. She is currently hard at work on Book Nine, beautifully-titled Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, and it’s hard not to imagine a future in which Starz adapts all of the novels in the beloved series.
